Introduction to photovoltaic cables
What is photovoltaic cable?
Photovoltaic cables refer to cables used for power transmission in DC side circuits in solar photovoltaic power plant systems. They are resistant to high and low temperatures, UV radiation, waterproof, salt spray resistant, weak acid and alkali resistant, aging resistant, and flame retardant. and other excellent physical properties.

Photovoltaic cables are constantly exposed to sunlight, and solar systems are often used in harsh environmental conditions, such as high temperatures and ultraviolet radiation.
In Europe, sunny days can lead to on-site temperatures of up to 100°C for solar systems.
Photovoltaic cable is a composite cable installed on solar modules, which consists of galvanized steel wire covered in two operating forms (i.e. single core and dual core) with an insulating material.
It can be used to transport electrical energy in solar cell circuits, which allows photovoltaic cells to provide necessary energy support for power systems.
Photovoltaic cable material

Conductor: Tinned copper wire
Outer quilt material: XLPE (also known as: cross-linked polyethylene) is an insulating material.
Photovoltaic cable structure
- Generally use pure copper or tinned copper core conductors
- Two types of inner insulation and outer insulation sheaths
Photovoltaic cable Features
- Small size, light weight, energy saving and environmental protection;
- It has good mechanical properties and chemical stability, and has large carrying capacity;
- It has smaller size, lighter weight and lower cost than other similar cables;
- It has good corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, is not corroded by wet water.
- It can be shielded from corrosive environments, has good anti-aging properties and a better service life;
- Low cost and can be used in environments with strong corrosive media such as sewage, rainwater, ultraviolet rays or other acids and alkalis.
The characteristics of photovoltaic cables are simple structure. The irradiated polyolefin insulation material used has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, and ultraviolet resistance. It can meet the photovoltaic power generation needs in the new era.
