System architecture

Two Sellable Routes, Each Requiring Separate Approval

The current product range supports a modular 5kW-based reference and a dedicated Deye 20kW three-phase inverter. They should be quoted as distinct designs, not mixed into one unverified system.

Modular 20kW reference

The existing LeforESS system matrix shows four 5kW off-grid inverters, two 51.2V 10.24kWh wall batteries and thirty-seven 550W modules. This provides a 20.35kWp PV and 20.48kWh nominal battery reference, subject to approved inverter parallel and phase topology.

Deye 20kW three-phase route

The Deye SUN-20K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a published 20kW three-phase hybrid inverter with a 40–60V battery range, 350A maximum battery current, two MPPT trackers and 32kW maximum PV input power. At this current, battery bank, busbar, cable and protection design are critical.

Battery quantity is selected around energy and current. A high-power 20kW design often needs parallel units after BMS approval.

Route B supports higher PV input than the reference array, but oversizing must follow the Deye limits and site design; it is not an automatic recommendation.

The answers explain why the final quote depends on engineering inputs rather than one fixed kit.

Is 20.48kWh of battery enough for a 20kW system?

It is an existing reference capacity, not a universal answer. Backup time is calculated from actual load energy, usable battery capacity and losses; the battery bank must also deliver the inverter’s required current.

Can one Deye 20kW inverter replace four 5kW units?

It is a separate architecture, not a direct drop-in replacement. Phase, PV strings, battery current, communication, protection and installation must be redesigned around the Deye model.

Can the PV array be larger than 20kWp?

Possibly, if the selected inverter datasheet, string voltage/current, MPPT allocation and local conditions allow it. The 20.35kWp value shown here is one existing reference, not the limit for every inverter route.

What is needed before pricing a 20kW system?

Provide destination, voltage and phase, detailed load schedule, motor surge, daily energy, backup target, PV area, generator or grid interface, cable distances and required protection and packing scope.
