Configured solar + storage

5kW Off-Grid Solar Power System for B2B Projects

Configure a 5kW off-grid solar power system as a compact integrated storage unit or as a complete kit with PV modules, a 5kW-class inverter, 51.2V LiFePO4 battery storage and project accessories. LeforESS supports distributors, installers and buyers who need a reviewable component scope instead of a generic retail package.

Configuration routes

Choose the Architecture Before Fixing Component Quantities

The current LeforESS product range supports both a compact integrated unit and a separated PV, inverter and battery kit. The correct route depends on installation access, serviceability, expansion and project documentation.

01

Integrated storage unit

Uses a stackable enclosure with inverter and modular battery sections. It suits protected indoor projects that value a compact equipment footprint.

02

Complete component kit

Separates PV modules, inverter, battery, mounting and protection so installers can adapt the layout to the site.

03

Battery-first expansion

Starts from required backup energy and battery current, then checks inverter compatibility, communication and parallel limits.

04

PV-first design

Uses available array area and solar resource as inputs, while respecting MPPT voltage, current and charging limits.

Project accessories

Cables, connectors, mounting and electrical protection are specified after cable routes and installation scope are known.

Reference BOM

A Starting Configuration, Not a Fixed Promise

The existing LeforESS system matrix contains the following 5kW reference. It is retained because it has selection value, but it must be checked against the destination, load and inverter datasheet before quotation.

System elementExisting referenceWhat must be confirmed
InverterOne 5kW off-grid inverter, 220–240V / 50–60Hz referenceLoad surge, output phase, PV window, battery protocol and local electrical standard

Reference quantities describe one current website configuration and are not a substitute for site engineering.

Before quotation

Five Inputs That Change a 5kW System

Two buyers asking for “5kW” can need very different batteries, PV arrays and protection equipment.

Peak and surge

List motors, pumps, compressors and other loads with high starting current.

Daily energy

Record operating watts and hours to calculate the energy the system must deliver.

Backup target

Define required hours without solar and which loads can be shed first.

Site conditions

Confirm voltage, frequency, PV area, indoor or outdoor placement and cable routes.

Selection boundary

5kW Is Power; Battery Runtime Is a Separate Decision

A 5kW inverter can supply up to its approved output class, but it does not define how many hours the system will operate. Runtime depends on usable battery energy, load level, conversion losses and reserve settings.

  • Use average and peak load separately
  • Confirm continuous and maximum battery current
  • Match inverter-to-battery CAN or RS485 communication
  • Allow for PV charging limits and local daily solar yield

Buying questions

5kW Off-Grid System FAQ

Answers focus on the decisions required for a technical and commercial quote.

Is a 5kW system the same as a 5kWh battery?

No. 5kW describes inverter output power. 5kWh describes stored energy. A system can use a different battery capacity after the load and backup target are calculated.

Can the battery be expanded from 5.12kWh to 10.24kWh?

That configuration is present in the current integrated product range, but module quantity, BMS limits, inverter settings and cable protection must be confirmed for the selected version.

Does the 5.5kWp reference array fit every 5kW inverter?

No. The PV string must stay inside the selected inverter’s maximum voltage, MPPT range, operating current and maximum input-power limits in the expected site temperature.

What should an installer send for pricing?

Send the destination, phase and voltage, load list, surge loads, operating hours, backup target, PV area, cable distances and required accessory scope.

Request a 5kW Configuration Based on Your Loads

Include the destination, load schedule, backup hours and whether you need an integrated unit or a complete component kit.
